It is easy to be grateful for the good things in life; however, to experience the full benefits of gratitude, we must learn to find gratitude in our challenges.
It is that time of year when most women give up on their goals because they do not see the results they want. Resist the temptation to give up right before the end. Remind yourself how far you have come this year, from the small wins to the big moments. You owe it to yourself to do the best you can.
“We ought to give thanks for all fortune: if it is good, because it is good; if bad, because it works in us patience, humility, contempt of this world and the hope of our eternal country.” – C. S. Lewis
Gratitude is one of the most powerful emotions we can cultivate as women. And, gratitude inspires a positive mindset.
Best of all, there is always something women can find to be grateful for, from the big things - such as a promotion, achieved goal, dream relationship, or good health, to the little things - such as a warm cup of cocoa, the sound of rustling leaves, or an incredible view.
The more we can encourage our default thinking to notice what is present rather than missing, the more we can experience joy, fulfillment, and happiness.
"Reflect upon your present blessings, of which every man has plenty; not on your past misfortunes, of which all men have some." - Charles Dickens
Of course, this goes for women too.
As we head into a day of gratitude, there is one person you need to remember to give gratitude to this thanksgiving that women easily forget...
You.
And as tempting as it will be for you to scroll past this part of the blog right now...
I want to encourage you instead to pause and sit here for a moment to let this soak in.
Think about the past months of 2021 – all you accomplished, all you overcame, all successes, and, yes, all struggles too.
Woman of worth – you did it. I want to celebrate that with you through gratitude.
Regardless what this holiday holds for you, take time to thank yourself for showing up, leaning into, and having an impact on those around you.
Remember that with support, encouragement, and healthy accountability from someone who believes in you, you can do far more than you ever dreamed of accomplishing alone. A life coach helps you stay on track, overcome obstacles, and convert your dreams into concrete steps put into your plan.
"15 For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God." - 2 Corinthians 4:15 KJV
I am grateful for you being a part of this community of unapologetically ambitious women. I hope you feel gratitude from every direction as you go about your holiday.
