Women seem to spend a lot of time looking for the meaning of life or dreaming of living a happier, more fulfilling life. It is easy to find contentment in buying more prominent, more expensive things, from cars and homes to watches and designer handbags. But just collecting more and more stuff does not make you happy. It makes you frustrated and dissatisfied. The answer to fulfillment is much more straightforward. It is within your innermost self.
Luke 1:45 KJV, "And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord."
Fulfillment lies in knowing yourself – the good, the bad, and the ugly – and acknowledging it.
Romans 7:22-23 KJV, "22 For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: 23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members."
You are much more than your career, house, or relationships.
2 Corinthians 4:16 KJV, "For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day."
The innermost you is full of possibility.
Ephesians 3:16 KJV, "That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man."
You must see beyond the externals, beyond the ego, to discover your real purpose and blossom into your best you.
Fulfillment occurs when we are in a relationship with the Holy Spirit. Meditating is an easy way to cut through the noise of everyday life and listen to the Holy Spirit. This is a crucial component of a Christian's growth.
Genesis 24:63 KJV, "And Isaac went out to meditate in the field at the eventide: and he lifted up his eyes, and saw, and, behold, the camels were coming."
Though meditation is not described in Scripture as many think of it today, which is greatly influenced by Eastern meditation methods, it links with growth and success in the Bible.
Joshua 1:8 KJV, "This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success."
Meditation carves out space where you detach from the rush and stresses in your day. Women tend to let our thoughts rule us. We can practice biblical meditation by being deliberate with our thoughts and directing them to the things of the Lord.
Psalm 1:2-3 KJV, "2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. 3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper."
Forming a consistent meditation routine will help you develop inner peace and calm that stay with you even outside your meditation session.
Women who are satisfied and fulfilled in their life do not have delusions about getting happiness from possessions. They understand and acknowledge their true selves, including strengths and weaknesses.
You can cultivate simplicity through meditating on the underlying soul questions: Who am I? What do I want? Why am I here? Recall any events when you experienced happiness, usefulness, and purposefulness in your life. Consider how you felt throughout the activity rather than focusing on the result.
Psalm 143 KJV, "1 Hear my prayer, O Lord, give ear to my supplications: in thy faithfulness answer me, and in thy righteousness. 2 And enter not into judgment with thy servant: for in thy sight shall no man living be justified. 3 For the enemy hath persecuted my soul; he hath smitten my life down to the ground; he hath made me to dwell in darkness, as those that have been long dead. 4 Therefore is my spirit overwhelmed within me; my heart within me is desolate. 5 I remember the days of old; I meditate on all thy works; I muse on the work of thy hands. 6 I stretch forth my hands unto thee: my soul thirsteth after thee, as a thirsty land. Selah. 7 Hear me speedily, O Lord: my spirit faileth: hide not thy face from me, lest I be like unto them that go down into the pit. 8 Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee. 9 Deliver me, O Lord, from mine enemies: I flee unto thee to hide me. 10 Teach me to do thy will; for thou art my God: thy spirit is good; lead me into the land of uprightness. 11 Quicken me, O Lord, for thy name's sake: for thy righteousness' sake bring my soul out of trouble. 12 And of thy mercy cut off mine enemies, and destroy all them that afflict my soul: for I am thy servant."
Create a journal. Write all intuitions that come to you in the course of meditation. The clarity achieved from these insights will help you take action aligned with your God-given gifts.
Create a positive mindset to experience fulfillment. Christians should adhere to the Bible's teaching of meditating on God and His Word, not on ourselves or the things of this world. Meditating is a devotional practice that women engage in with the Holy Spirit's assistance to know God better, love Him more, experience closer communion with Him, and live for His glory.
Philippians 4:8 KJV, "Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things."
Scripture presents a different definition of meditation, which focuses solely on God's Word and what it reveals about Him. It should integrate into our lives as a valuable means of knowing God, growing in His grace, being transformed into Christlikeness, and fulfilling the God-given purpose in our lives.
James 1:22-25 KJV, "22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. 23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: 24 For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. 25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed."
Studying the Bible should promote change in a woman's life, and biblical meditation will help ensure the proper transition. Only God can give genuine and enduring peace and fulfillment.
John 14:27 KJV. "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid."
