It is that time of year again when millions of women are setting New Year's resolutions, in an effort to transform their lives.
If you just take this approach, sadly, the odds are stacked against you. Chances are the resolutions you are so passionate about right now, will not last out the month.
Instead of helping you change your life and accomplish your goals, you will soon be back into your old routines and habits.
Unless you take a different approach...
This year, if you are trying to make a healthy lifestyle change, I invite you to consider an alternative- try an affirmation instead.
Goals are something you want to accomplish that includes taking actionable steps to achieve them.
Resolutions are statements of intent. Affirmations are statements of 'truth'.
Have you ever stopped to think about the subtle differences between those things?
Setting goals mobilizes us toward grand achievements and new experiences.
New year's resolutions are well intended, but tend to be future-tense, one-time statements.
An affirmation is an effective tool to help you live the life you have always dreamed of living and to the fullest.
What is an affirmation?
The Bible instructs us to renew our mind. Affirmations are positive assertions that you say aloud regularly. The aim is to reprogram your subconscious mind to remove the negative thoughts preventing you from reaching your dreams.
An affirmation works by overwriting negative thoughts stored in the subconscious mind, alongside the positive ones. It is VERY important that women speak to themselves the way God speaks.
The Benefits of Affirmations
Women all have mental recordings repeating again and again in their minds. Most come from your early years and have been controlling your actions for years. Sadly, many of these old recordings are constantly feeding your mind negative material.
These negative recordings do not always stem from direct assertions from people. Still, they tend to be general theories you have come to accept as true about your situation or yourself.
If your parents always cautioned you about strangers, you may have the mindset that sees the world as a dangerous place. If you came from a family without much money, you might have limiting beliefs about your finances that prevent you from achieving or keeping wealth.
The great news is that you can override destructive messages using the power of an affirmation! An affirmation can reinforce good behavior and help change one that needs changing. To make changes, you need to create an affirmation that you connect with to help you make progress.
Keep these key points in mind to write an effective affirmation:
How To Use Affirmations
Begin using affirmations by choosing a few short, clear statements about what you would like to see happen in your life.
Focus on a Truth Mindset and feel closer to God and more connected with your life with biblical affirmations.
Try some of these:
You can write your affirmations on note cards and keep them with you in your purse or wallet. As you have some time to spare, take them out and read them aloud.
State the affirmations in a clear, firm voice with a smile on your face as you say them. This will help you be more aware of the positive vibrations of the affirmations, allowing them easier access to your subconscious mind.
These are for your benefit. Write what is most helpful to you. If you do not connect with what you write, it will not be effective. These instructions are on how to write an effective affirmation. But you can develop a way that works best for you!
Using an affirmation daily is an excellent way to boost positivity in your life. Begin using this powerful tool today to bring the changes you most desire into your world.

2019 was an unbelievable, frustrating, scary, but amazing year for me. I got to help other people go through the same process of daily growth and action that has helped me so much in my marriage, health, and professionally. COVID changed everything. We all have had to pivot.
I want to take the time to THANK YOU for your support, your own personal growth, and the good that you do in the world. The fact that you are even interested in life coaching says to me that you are a person willing to take the time to improve and be better for the world around you. I respect that immensely.
I wish you an incredibly safe, healthy, and happy New Year!
I hope that 2020 brings you much love, growth, prosperity, and happiness.
Keep moving forward,
Coach Sandra
