Affirmation: I Know All Activities that I Accomplish are Rooted in Thanksgiving

affirmations Nov 21, 2020

My day-to-day activities are intentional. I prefer to move through life with a thankful attitude. That focus allows me to maintain a positive mindset. All activities that I accomplish are rooted in thanksgiving

As I step into my office every day, I tell myself that having this job is a luxury. Being thankful for this occupation gives me the motivation to work diligently.

Before I welcome my friends, I express gratitude that I can see them and communicate with them. My initial statements set a positive tone for our conversations.

The simple blessings in life are apparent to me with every step that I make. I move deliberately and with enthusiasm as I am blessed with the capability to walk. I stay away from moping around even when I am feeling down. A spirit of thankfulness guides my steps.

Giving thanks is a genuine part of my life. I celebrate occasions to show my thankful mindset. Acknowledging goodness in life allows me to live happily and peacefully.

Self-Reflection Questions:

  1. Which life events am I most thankful for this year?
  2. Do I take advantage of my positive mindset to lessen negative energy from others?
  3. In which situations is it difficult for me to stay focused on being thankful?

HappyThanksgiving!

Thanksgiving is in 5 days. Wait, Whaaat?! Then this year is just the short season between Thanksgiving and Christmas! STOP! Hit the brakes! I am not ready!! (Does anyone else feel this way?!)

Ladies, can you believe that the holiday season is upon us? And this Thanksgiving, I would like to encourage you to celebrate all the gifts in your life and the gifts you can share with others - from the tangible to the non-tangible.

Whether it is a physical package that your friend or family member will joyously unwrap, a phone call just because, volunteering your time, or encouraging someone who is going through rough times, women all have so much to give and share!

Here are some quick tips to reduce holiday stress!

✔️Plan your to-dos in your calendar –– The simple act of knowing when everything needs to happen will clear space in your brain and reduce stress!

✔️Place limits: Knowing what your budget is for the holidays and knowing how you are allocating it will feel so good when you roll into 2021 without any added debt!

✔️Go shopping early! Avoid the last-minute panic of running around for the perfect gift or possibly having it sold out! By making your list early, you can save time by hitting each store only once and save money by watching for sales!

✔️Check out Instacart. You can get all your groceries delivered...seriously, it is a game-changer not to have to fight crowds!

This year, Thanksgiving takes place on Thursday, Nov. 26. Before you celebrate the holiday with your loved ones, read up on your State and Local resources to ensure your Thanksgiving is celebrated safely. Refer to CDC.gov for recommendations.

To make your holiday safer, take these additional steps while attending a Thanksgiving gathering:

  • Bring your own food, drinks, plates, cups, and utensils.
  • Wear a mask and safely store your mask while eating and drinking.
  • Avoid going in and out of areas where food is being prepared or handled, such as in the kitchen.
  • Use single-use options, like salad dressing and condiment packets, and disposable items like food containers, plates, and utensils.

If having guests to your home, be sure that people follow the steps that everyone can take to make Thanksgiving safer. Other steps you can take include:

  • Have a small outdoor meal with family and friends who live in your community.
  • Limit the number of guests.
  • Have conversations with guests ahead of time to set expectations for celebrating together.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces and items between use.
  • If celebrating indoors, make sure to open windows.
  • Limit the number of people in food preparation areas.
  • Have guests bring their own food and drink.
  • If sharing food, have one person serve food and use single-use options, like plastic utensils.
